A New Computerlab for CENDLOS
We are proud to announce that our Computerlab 011 was officially inaugurated at the Center for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS) in Accra on the 29th of November, 2023. The opening ceremony was performed by Dr. Samuel A. Offori, the Director of Finance and Operations of CENDLOS and Mr. Hanc de Bokx, Executive Director of Computerlabs Ghana LBG, the social enterprise that runs the RecellGhana Computerlabs (RGC) project. The Computerlab was showcased by Boampong Wilson, an ICT-teacher from Acropolis Maranatha Academy in Accra, who has already been teaching for one year with another Computerlab of RGC. The inauguration and following demonstration was attended by 60 professionals from the educational sector, form policy makers to practitioners.
CENDLOS is a leading institution in open and distant learning. It offers schools various services and products, such as consultancy, teacher training, the iBox & iCampus platforms, and educational technologies and materials. Our Computerlab will be used by CENDLOS to train two groups of learners: teachers and out-of-school students. Dr. Offori stated that the Computerlab will enable CENDLOS to increase the number and quality of trainees. He also highlighted the importance of RecellGhana Computerlabs in providing Computerlabs without any upfront costs, which is essential for promoting ICT development in the country. Dr. Offori added that CENDLOS is committed to creating more local digital content with the help of its multimedia content production studios. This will help the Ghanaian people to overcome the digital gap.
RecellGhana Computerlabs is excited to collaborate with CENDLOS to enhance the digital skills of students across Ghana. Our Executive Director Mr. De Bokx said that we aim to partner with more schools that want to adopt computer-based education. Together, we can empower more young people in Ghana with the digital skills that they need in the 21st century!
