Mobole D/A Basic School Transitions to Digital Education

Mobole D/A Basic School has transitioned to digital education after partnering with RecellGhana Computerlabs(RGC) to intall modern computer lab with 21 workstations for the school. The transition aims to promote digital education and eradicate digital illiteracy among teachers and students.

The transition to digital education will come with teacher training, internet, maintenance, repairs, and replacement to help the school get achieve sustainability.

RGC’s goal is to empower educators and students of Mobole D/A Basic School with digital knowledge and skills to prepare them for the digital world.

Digital literacy as a fourth literacy has become necessary to talk about in education. Although reading, writing, and mathematics are respected as the basis of being literate, literacy today is not complete if a person is incapable of accessing and creating digital information.

TEACHER TRAINING

Most Teachers in Ghana lack the requisite computing knowledge and skills to help improve teaching and learning, especially in this digital era. This has delayed Ghana’s transition to digital education and enhanced digital literacy.

RGC on the 10th of January 2024 organized a base training for the educators at Mobole D/A Basic School. The base training provides basic ICT knowledge to the teachers to kick start the use of their extra-modern computer lab.  This training is the first stage of RGC’s training to prepare the teachers and students to transition into digital education. The training tackles the basic components of RecellGhana Computerlabs, the rules and regulations, the hardware and software architecture, and how to care for the lab.
