Dora Memorial School Complex Partners with Computerlabs Ghana to Drive Sustainable Digital Education

Dora Memorial School Complex in Ho has taken a bold step toward transforming teaching and learning by partnering with Computerlabs Ghana to introduce sustainable digital education. It combines modern tools with training and support, making digital education practical, reliable, and sustainable for the whole school.

The school now has a new computerlab with 21 workstations, supported by a server, UPS backup battery, internet connectivity, and Ghana Education Service-approved educational software. What sets this facility apart is its sustainability. Computerlabs Ghana has offers maintenance, equipment replacement, remote monitoring, and an active help desk service, ensuring the computerlab remains dependable for years to come.

The project also prioritizes teacher development. Educators at Dora Memorial took part in a base training workshop to learn how to integrate digital tools into their lessons. They practiced with applications such as Scratch and Microsoft Word, and explored ways technology can be applied across all subjects, not just computing. Teachers will continue through structured training levels Base, Bronze, Silver, and Gold designed by Computerlabs Ghana in partnership with the Ghana Society for Education and Technology (GSET).

School leaders have welcomed the initiative as more than just an upgrade. They believe sustainable digital education empowers students with the skills they need to thrive in higher education and future careers, while giving teachers the confidence to innovate in the classroom. On a broader level, they see it as a contribution to closing Ghana’s digital divide and preparing young people to play active roles in national development.

With this partnership, Dora Memorial School Complex is positioning itself as a model for future-focused education in the Volta Region. Supported by Computerlabs Ghana, the school is ensuring that digital learning is not just available today but will remain effective, accessible, and sustainable for years to come.
