RGC installed 21-workstations to boost digital education, and digital literacy, not just for the learners of the school but for the educators. The 21-workstation computerlab comes with a server, Thin client, internet, an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), Ghana’s ICT curriculum software, and other software that are relevant for students in this day and age
Some of these software are; Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word Document, and Publisher. Other software includes GIMP for editing images, TIP10 for typing lessons, Scratch for coding, and some generic applications such as File Manager, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, File Explorer, Recycle Bin, and PDF Reader.
RGC will monitor, maintain, replace, and update the software, so that the teachers and the learners of the school can consistently have access to a well-equipped computerlab. Data proves that schools with computerlabs in Ghana struggle to sustain the lab or do not have the resources to maintain it for a long period, as a result, these institutions end up lagging behind in ICT. RecellGhana Computerlabs also conducted a base training for the educators at the school after the installation of the computerlab. The training was to empower all the teachers of the school with the basic ICT skills they need to train their learners to help them acquire and improve their ICT skills.
