Mikel International School, located in Afienya, has taken a significant step toward enhancing digital learning by partnering with RecellGhana Computerlabs (RGC). Through this collaboration, the school now benefits from a state-of-the-art 21-workstation computer lab equipped with stable internet, Ghana Education Service-approved educational software, and a central server—all designed to promote digital literacy and modern computing education.
As part of this partnership, RecellGhana Computerlabs will provide comprehensive training and ongoing technical support to the school’s computing facilitators. This initiative ensures that educators are well-equipped to effectively integrate technology into their teaching, maximizing the potential of the newly installed computer lab to enrich learning experiences.

Beyond the installation, Mikel International School will also receive a suite of essential support services, including a 24-hour help desk, a backup battery system, hardware and software maintenance, equipment replacement, and remote monitoring. These services guarantee that the ICT lab remains fully functional, providing uninterrupted access to digital learning resources. With a fully equipped and well-maintained computer lab, Mikel International School can now focus on delivering high-quality computing lessons aligned with Ghana’s National ICT Curriculum. This initiative will empower students with the technological skills and knowledge needed to navigate and excel in today’s digital world.
Bridging the Digital Divide in Education
In an era where digital literacy is fundamental to academic and professional success, schools must prioritize access to modern computing facilities. A lack of digital education threatens both students’ futures and the nation’s overall development.
By taking a bold step to integrate technology into its curriculum, Mikel International School is not only preparing its students for a technology-driven future but also contributing to reducing the digital gap in Ghanaian society.

Educator Training and Skill Development
In addition to setting up the ICT lab, on 11th January 2025, RecellGhana Computerlabs conducted an in-depth training session for educators at Mikel International School.
Teachers were introduced to the components of the RGC lab, as well as the rules and best practices for using the facility efficiently. The training also included practical lessons on essential applications such as Scratch and Microsoft Word, equipping educators with hands-on experience to enhance their teaching methodologies.
